School news
We have had an usually quiet week this week, with no trips! The children have all been working hard and catching up with their work before the half term break. Next term we look forward to lots of trips, sports and our Junior Residential (I have enclosed Residential info in the Friday bags for those who couldn’t attend the meeting on Monday) We hope you all have a lovely break and we will see you on 5th June.
Sun Cream & Sun Hats
Now the weather is getting warmer please make sure you apply sun cream before school and send a sun hat to keep your child safe from the sun. If you do send additional sun cream in please make sure it has your child’s name on and that your child can apply this themselves.
PTA News
A huge thank you to all of those who joined or gave apologies for our PTA meeting on Tuesday! We had a super productive few hours at the Royal Oak, and wanted to share some of the best bits with you all.
Spending Approved….!
£600 of NEW BOOKS are coming to support Junior’s reading schemes. ‘Football Heros’, ‘Disney Fairy Tales with A Twist’, ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ and many, many more have arrived and are waiting to hit the shelves after half term!
PICNIC BENCHES with a twist! We have approved spending on two new ones made from 100% recycled plastic, with a surprise to be announced next half term!
We will also be spending funds next term on a two-day ARTIST WORKSHOP which will involve all the children in school. As they work collaboratively with artist Kerry Howarth to create artworks for display in school.
Finally, the Summer Fayre planning is coming along wonderfully! This year’s event will include: afternoon tea, fairground style stalls, dog show, bbq and bar…. plus, a special gift from us to all the children, rental of an inflatable obstacle course.
SAVE THE DATE – SPORTS DAY & SUMMER FAYRE IS FRIDAY 14th JULY!!
If you have any ideas that you’d like to share with the PTA or would like to get involved. Please text or call Rachel on 07384 324866 or contact Hannah in the school office.
Infant Recorder Club
Mrs Ford will be starting a Recorder club after half term for the Infant children, this will run on a Friday lunchtime at 12.30pm. We only have 3 spaces available for this club, so please let Hannah in the office know ASAP if your child would like a space.
Music Lessons
Mrs Trotman has a few spaces for music lessons on a Friday, these are 20 minute 1-to-1 sessions learning either the piano, ukulele, recorder, drums, cello or guitar. The cost is £10 per session. If you would like more information, please contact Mrs Trotman direct on Chordophonetuition@gmail.com
