31st March
Forest School
Year 2 children had a fantastic day at Leck St. Peter’s on Tuesday, engaging in lots of Lent related crafts. They had some thoughtful ideas about the crafts they had created and were beginning to make the link between symbols and the Easter story. Thank you very much to Mrs Mather at Leck for organising the day.
Abbeystead day
On Wednesday we had an Outdoor learning day at the Abbeystead Estate. We had an amazing day taking part in five activities throughout the day. We met Anna the Labrador and Charlie the ferret who helped us learn about the country code, we made some dragonflies, caught and identified animals from the river, made bunting at forest school and looked at different types of birds and how their beaks determine their diet. We have uploaded some photos onto our Facebook page for you see what we got up to.
PE after Easter
There will be no Swimming lessons for the Juniors after the Easter break, Swimming lessons will resume again in the Autumn term. For the Summer term the Children will be taking part in PE sessions to include, football, rounders, rugby and cricket on the school field.
Please can we ask that ALL CHILDREN HAVE A PE KIT IN SCHOOL from Monday 17th April to include Shorts, t-shirt and trainers. This PE kit can stay at School until May half term.
Junior Reading Challenge
All Junior children will be bringing home a reading challenge sheet today, please colour in the square for every reading challenge completed during the Easter holidays. Please try and get some photos of your child completing the challenges which we can use for our whole school library display. There will be a small prize for completing the sheet. Please email your photos to bursar@hornby.lancs.sch.uk
