16th April

Welcome back, for what we all hope will be an uninterrupted Summer Term!  The children seem pleased to be here and ready to learn.  We will continue with emailed weekly updates, unless there are items that need completing and returning to school.

Please continue to wear masks on site and maintain social distancing.  Lateral Flow Tests are available to everyone now and can be picked up from the Caton Road Park and Ride in Lancaster.

We were all saddened to hear of the passing of His Royal Highness, The Duke of Edinburgh.  Upper junior pupils researched his life and have produced a lovely display for the classroom, have a look for the Facebook post.  The Royal website has opened an online Book of Condolence https://www.royal.uk/?utm_source=12%20April%202021%20C19&utm_medium=Daily%20Email%20C19&utm_campaign=DfE%20C19 for anyone who would like to send a message.

Attached to the email today is a document showing what the children in each key stage will be covering this half term.  There is a topic sheet for EYFS (reception), one for Key stage one (year 1 & 2) and a Key stage 2 one for all juniors.

Junior parents will also find attached a letter from Mrs Shaw regarding PSHE topics, please have a read and contact us if you have any concerns.

Steve Pemberton, a Lancashire Cricket Coach, will be in school next Tuesday afternoon 20th April.  He will lead two sessions one with the infants and another with lower juniors, please ensure they have their PE kit in school.

We have been contacted by Juliet Balme (nee Allen) to inform us of the recent passing of her father Mr John O Allen.  He was Headteacher here from 1974 to 1977 and he visited for the 50th Anniversary celebration in 2012.  Juliet and her brother Troy also attended school here in the 1970’s, some of our parents or grandparents may remember them and their father.

Please can we remind parents to check their school money accounts and not let the balances for either school meals or early morning club build up.

Day visits are now allowed, so we are hoping to have outdoor activity days this term for both infants and juniors.  The dates are listed below.
