4th September

A short newsletter this week, we will send out all start of year forms etc next Friday.  The plan is to continue emailing the newsletter, just using the Friday Bag to send home forms, let’s try and save a few trees!

Welcome back to school – We were really pleased that all our children returned to school on Wednesday 2nd September, it was great to see everyone.  The children all seemed happy to be back and ready to learn.

We are looking forward to meeting our new reception children on Monday; we welcome Ruby, Macy, Eric, George, and Ronnie.  We are sure they will all be very happy here at Hornby St Margaret’s School.

Covid19 – our website page still has a lot of information for you to refer to, please take a look.  Children have coped well this week with the additional measures that we have put in place and we continue to be vigilant in school.  Please do not send your child into school if they are unwell in any way.

Junior PE – year 5 & 6 pupils will be starting football sessions with Morecambe FC on Monday 7th September, so will need appropriate PE kit.  Year 3 & 4 pupils will also need full PE kit including outdoor trainers as we will aim to be outside as much as possible.

Junior Swimming – year 3, 4 & 5 pupils will start swimming on Wednesday 9th September at Hornby Pool.  Pupils will need to wear trunks/costumes – no shorts or bikinis.  Long hair should be tied back or they need to wear a swimming hat (both boys and girls), which they can put on themselves, please practise at home.  All jewellery, including earrings, must be removed and the pupils need to be able to do this themselves.

Year 5/6 Geography Walk – Mrs Shaw plans to take the upper juniors around Hornby village on either Thursday or Friday next week, 10th or 11th September to practise some mapping skills.  An information sheet is included along with this newsletter.
