Yes, it is only Thursday don’t worry!  Lots of juniors are out at Young Voices tomorrow and we have a busy week next week so need to make sure you all know what’s going on.

The upper juniors had a great art session on Monday afternoon with a teacher from QES, she will be coming a further three times to work with them.

 

 

Junior Young Voices.

The children are getting excited about the concert tomorrow, we hope they all really enjoy it. Please refer to the trip information sheet sent out last week for details of what the children need.  Mr Stafford-Roberts will send a text message to let parents know what time we hope to be back at school.

Children not attending the concert will remain in school with Mrs Cook.

 

Parent Assembly. 

There will be no parent assembly tomorrow Friday 31st January; lots of junior children and staff will be out at Young Voices.

 

Infant Forest School.

All the infant children are off for another Forest School Adventure on Monday 3rd February.  They will visit the wooded area at Leck School and engage in activities with the infant children from Leck.  A detailed information sheet is included in their Friday Bag today; they will need a packed lunch and waterproofs as the ground can be damp even if it’s not raining.

 

 

 

Upper Junior Caving Days.

Our year 5 & 6 pupils will be experiencing an introduction to caving at the beginning of next week.  Year 6 will go on Monday 3rd February and year 5 on Tuesday 4th FebruaryThese sessions will be led by an experienced instructor from Tower Wood Outdoor Centre, along with Mr Stafford-Roberts and will take place at a cave in the Yorkshire Dales chosen by the instructor.  Parents of those children involved will find a full information sheet in this week’s bag, please pay particular attention to the detailed requirements on the kit list. There is no charge for these sessions, school will be fully funding them.  If any parent has any queries or concerns, please do speak to Mr Stafford-Roberts.

 

Junior Football Event.

The Lune Valley School Cluster is running a Football Event at Arkholme Primary School on Wednesday 5th February.  We are sending 7 upper juniors and 5 lower juniors to take part.  An information sheet is included in the Friday bag today for those taking part.  Please note that upper juniors will need football boots and shin pads if they have them; lower juniors can play in trainers, don’t buy football boots or shin pads just for this!

 

Passport to Safer Cycling and Tales of the Road.

Upper junior pupils will find a Lancashire County Council ‘Passport to Safer Cycling’ magazine and a Department of Transport ‘Tales of the Road’ booklet in the Friday bag this week.  Please encourage them to have a read.

 

Parent Help Morning. Parent help would be greatly appreciated at school on Saturday 8th February, with some tidying and general maintenance jobs.  We intend to start from 9:30am onwards and be finished by 12noon.  Well behaved, helpful children are welcome to come along too!

 

Lune Valley Pool.
