24th January

Junior Young Voices – Friday 31st January.  Staff and children attending the concert will be leaving school at about 11:45am to travel to the Manchester Arena.  From 2:15pm there will be a rehearsal for all the choirs, this will be followed by a break for tea and the event will start at 7pm.  Parents attending the concert may like to be in their seats by 6:30pm, as there will be school shout outs between 6:30 and 7pm so you can see where the children are situated.  At the end of the performance all pupils will return to school on the coach.  We would hope to be back at school by around 11pm, but we will keep you informed by text message.  We appreciate that this is late, but the children will have had a fantastic time and can rest over the weekend!

The children need to come to school in their school uniform, but replace their red polo shirt with a white T-shirt.

Cookie will be providing a brunch for the children before they leave school, so that they have one hot meal during the day.  Pupils will also need to bring a packed tea and other food and drink to see them through the long day. It would help if this was totally disposable please, no glass bottles are allowed in the arena.  The concert supports FareShare, the national award winning charity and will be collecting tinned food to distribute to the homeless, so it would be great if pupils could bring a tin of food to the concert as well.

We do still have one spare ticket; if there is anyone who would like to attend the concert and didn’t request tickets, it will be sold for £20 to the first person to speak to Mrs Sharpe.

A trip information sheet is included in the bag today for the children attending.

Children not attending the concert will remain in school with Mrs Cook.

Parent Assembly.  There will be no parent assembly next Friday 31st January; lots of junior children and staff will be out at Young Voices.

Junior Residential.  Please remember that the balance for the Malham residential visit, which takes place at the beginning of July, needs to be paid in full by the end of March.  If this timescale causes a problem do come and talk to Mrs Sharpe and we will try to organise a revised deadline.

PTA Meeting.  There will be a PTA meeting in school on Tuesday 28th January at 3pm; everyone is welcome.

Parent Help Morning. Parent help would be greatly appreciated at school on Saturday 8th February, with some tidying and general maintenance jobs.  We intend to start from 9:30am onwards and be finished by 12noon.  Well behaved, helpful children are welcome to come along too!
