17th January
Infant pupils enjoyed a sunny walk around the village on Wednesday looking at all the different buildings; they reported that there was lots to see when they returned!
Year 2 pupils also joined other infant pupils from local schools at Caton for an afternoon PE event on Thursday.
Young Voices – Friday 31st January. The date for the Junior Young Voices concert is fast approaching. We have booked a coach to transport all the staff and children, Cookie will be providing a brunch for the children before we leave school, if your child does not normally have lunch on a Friday but would like to have the brunch, please complete the slip at the end of the newsletter. Pupils will also need to bring a packed tea and other food and drink to see them through the long day. The children need to wear a white T-shirt under their school jumper.
Children not attending the concert will remain in school with Mrs Cook.
The tickets ordered by parents are included in the bag today for families who have paid for them. Please send the outstanding payments in on Monday. We do have one spare ticket; if there is anyone who would like to come and didn’t request tickets, it will be sold for £20 to the first person to speak to Mrs Sharpe. Parents will need to make their own way to Manchester Arena, it has been suggested that car share might be a possibility, so do talk to other parents who are going.
At the end of the performance all pupils will return to school on the coach. We would hope to be back at school by around 11pm, but we will keep you informed by text message. We appreciate that this is late, but the children will have had a fantastic time and can rest over the weekend!
A trip information sheet will be included in the bag next week.
Bills, Bills, Bills. Please could we ask parents to clear any money owing for either Early Morning Club or School Meals. The total cost for school meals this half term is £69. Dinner bills are included in some Friday bags today for families who prefer to pay by cash or cheque. We accept payment in advance for dinners and morning club too! If you are still having issues with online payments, please pop in and see Mrs Sharpe.
Music Lessons. Mrs Trotman continues to offer music lessons in school on Thursdays; pupils can have tuition in piano, recorder, ukulele or cello. If anybody would like to start lessons or get more details please contact Mrs Trotman by email chordophonetuition@gmail.com. Invoices for pupils currently having lessons are included in the Friday bag today. Please would these parents provide an email address for Mrs Trotman to send future invoices and notices.
