7th November

It’s been a busy week in school, with the visits to Tower Wood, junior netball competition and the whole school visit to Church.  Peter joined our infant class this week, we hope he will be really happy here at Hornby.

Home – School Agreement.  Please send in any outstanding agreements in the bag on Monday.

Boxes of Hope. The boxes will be collected next week, so if anyone wants to do a last minute box it just needs to be dropped off at school by Monday 11th November.

Young Voices – Manchester Arena -31st January 2020.  Please can we have all the slips back from junior parents regarding this concert, we need to start planning and must know who is going.  A slip is included on the back of this newsletter.

Junior Residential.  Thank you to all the parents who have returned the slip and deposit for the Malham Trip in July.  If you have not replied yet, please do so as soon as possible, so we can start to make the necessary arrangements.  If the trip raises any concerns for you, please do come and talk to Mr Stafford-Roberts.

Dinner Money.  Bills are included in the Friday Bag for families who prefer to pay in cash.  We appreciate online debts being kept to a minimum; you can always pre pay to avoid us sending you reminders.  Dinners continue to cost £2.30 per day, so £11.50 per week.

Christmas Cards.  The Christmas Cards proofs designed by the children have arrived and are included in the Friday bag today, together with an order form.  Each card will contain a printed greeting of “Merry Christmas” inside that does not appear on the proof.  Please can all orders be returned to school by Monday 18th November at the very latest.  The sale of these cards raises funds for the PTA that are used to benefit all pupils in school.

PTA Mufti Day – Friday 15th Nov.  Pupils are invited to wear their own clothes to school in return for a donation of a raffle prize.  It could be a box of chocolates or biscuits, a bottle of something alcoholic or a Christmas pudding, which could go into one of the hampers.   Please leave your donation in the school entrance on the morning.

Scholastic Book Club. Included in the Friday bag today is the latest book club leaflet, it’s full of ideas for Christmas Presents!  Ordering is now possible online at http://schools.scholastic.co.uk/hornby-st-margarets-ce-primar. There are hundreds of fantastic children’s books to choose from, and every £1 you spend on this month’s Book Club will earn 25p for our school in Scholastic Rewards.  If you wish to order using the leaflet that is fine too, just return it to school by Monday 18th November, online orders should be placed by then as well.
