Junior pupils enjoyed an afternoon of singing with a teacher from Casterton School this week.  They were learning songs ready for the Big Sing in June. More details regarding this event will following in a couple of weeks.

Next week is SATS week for year 6 children.  Please encourage your child not to worry about these.  They do need to be at school to try their best and that is always good enough.

Lower Juniors Walk.  Mrs Cook’s class will be walking down to the river on Tuesday 14^th May in the afternoon to look for evidence of dragons as part of their literacy topic!  An information sheet is included in their bag today.

Cricket Tournament.  A group of 8 upper juniors have been invited to take part in a Cricket Tournament at Over Kellet School next Friday 17^th May.  An information sheet is included in the Friday bag today for the pupils taking part.  The tournament is only for the morning, but we would like them all to bring a packed lunch on the day in case they are late back.

Edinburgh Residential Parents’ Information Session.  Mr Stafford-Roberts is holding an information session for all parents of pupils going on the Edinburgh Residential Trip at the beginning of July.  The meeting will be held in school on Tuesday 21^st May at 6pm, please try to attend.

Height and Weight Checks.  The School Nurse will be visiting school to check the height and weight of reception and year 6 pupils.  A letter is included in their Friday bag today; if you wish to opt out please contact the School Nurse direct, details at the top of the letter.

Year 6 Research Project.  All year 6 pupils have a letter from a Trainee Educational Psychologist in their bag today, it is asking for your consent for them to take part in her research.  Please have a read through and return the attached consent form to school on Monday.

Junior Cycling Club.  Please return any remaining slips and payment for the cycling club starting after half-term, slip is at the end of this newsletter.

Scholastic Book Club. The latest book club leaflet is included in the bag today.  Orders need to be returned to school by next Friday 17^th May.  Cheques should be made payable to Hornby CE Primary School.
