15th June 2018

Tomorrow is the PTA Summer Fair, please do try to support this, the committee work hard to raise money for the children in school.  The fair will be on whatever the weather, so do encourage friends and neighbours to come along.

The children have enjoyed seeing Mrs Hamlett back in school for a couple of days this week, she has a couple more visits in July, before she starts back full time in September.  It was also lovely to meet all the new starters this morning, we hope they all enjoyed their session.

Next week is a busy one, infants are at forest school on Monday, the whole school trip is on Tuesday and year 4, 5 & 6 are out on Wednesday at Kirkby Lonsdale Rugby Club!

Infant Forest School Day – Monday 18th June

The infant class are continuing their Forest School adventures on Monday 18th June at Leck School, along with their infant children. They will be cooking their own lunch in the woods, so each child will need a breakfast muffin or bun, a slice of ham, an egg and an empty and clean tuna tin. If your child doesn’t like either of these, they can bring a slice of cheese instead. They also need a banana, chocolate buttons and a few small marshmallows.  We will also be spending some time down at Springs Wood, which is down the lane from Leck School, doing some plant identification and sketches.  Please send appropriate footwear. As the children are cooking their lunch they do not need to bring a packed lunch. However, they DO need to bring plenty to drink.  A detailed information sheet is included in the bag today.

Whole School Trip – Tuesday 19th June

The whole school is going to Blackburn Cathedral and Preston Gurdwara on Tuesday 19th June for the the whole day.  All children need to be in school for 8:50am please, as we are leaving at 9am sharp.  We have not had signed permission slips and payment from several families yet, so we have included the slip again at the end of this newsletter.  Please return this on Monday.  Everyone will need a packed lunch and drink in a backpack that they can carry themselves. Everyone will also need to cover their heads to enter the Temple in Preston, so children will need to bring either a headscarf or a bandana please.  A detailed information sheet is included in the bag today.

Mrs Barker will not be running ukulele lessons on Tuesday due to the school trip.

We really hope everyone will be able to come.  Please complete the slip at the end of the newsletter.
