Welcome back; it’s the Sumer Term already!  We hope everyone had a good Easter holiday.

The infant’s topic is beasts and the juniors are looking at electricity.

 

Infant Forest School Day

The infant class are continuing their Forest School adventures on Monday 23rd April at Leck School, along with their infant children.  A full information sheet is included in all their Friday bags today.  Please send your child/ren with a small packed lunch and drink in a backpack that they can carry themselves.

 

Gardening Club

Gardening club has moved to a Wednesday lunchtime and will be for juniors on 25th April and then infants on 2nd May.

 

Lune Valley Cluster Yr4 Ethos Day

We have been invited to take a group of 4 year 4 pupils to Over Kellet School on Thursday 26th April to join with other local children for an Ethos and Spirituality Day.  Full information sheets are included in the bag today for the 4 pupils attending.  They will need to bring a packed lunch and make sure they have a coat and pair of trainers with them, so they can go Geochacing!

 

Infant Trip to Lakeland Wildlife Oasis

Miss Race will be taking all the infants to Lakeland Wildlife Oasis on Monday 30th April.  We have hired a coach to transport them and have to pay £6 entrance per pupil, so are asking for a donation of £10 each towards the cost of this.  Please complete the slip at the end of the newsletter, giving permission for your child to go on this trip.  All children going on the trip will need to bring a packed lunch on the day. Detailed information sheets will be in the bag next week.

 

Royal Wedding Picnic

We are planning a picnic lunch to celebrate the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.  The lunch will be on Thursday 17th May and all children are invited to take part.  An invitation is included in the Friday bag today for all children who don’t usually have lunch on a Thursday.

There will be no charge for infants joining in, but juniors will need to send in £2.20, please return the form in the bag on Monday to allow Cookie to plan.

 

NISCU Competition

Included in the Friday bag is a flyer inviting you to draw, paint or make something to show ‘What is the biggest thing you can give a friend?’ Don’t worry about the date on flyer, but all entries need to be in school first thing on Monday morning.

 

Knitting Club

Mrs Rosie will continue with Knitting Club for the upper juniors starting on Thursday 26th April.

 

PTA Ice Cream Friday

Mrs Fisher will be selling ice creams next Friday 27th April at the end of school, bring a £1!

 

Outstanding Dinner Money and Residential Payments

Reminders about outstanding dinner money are included in some Friday bags, these can either be paid by logging onto the school money website or we are still happy to receive cheques made payable to Lancashire County Council.  Also included are any outstanding debts for the junior residential, these need paying by the end of April please, if this causes a problem do come and speak to us.

 

Drop off and pick up

Please could we ask parents to use the pub carpark and main school entrance both before and after school. There is limited space in the staff carpark and pupils should not be using this route into the playground, as cars are regularly coming and going.
