Walk to School

As part of the government’s healthy schools initiative we are inviting parents and children to take part in a walk to school with us once every half term.

This half term’s walk will take place on Friday February 9th. We will meet on the carpark in Hornby village, next to the river and the park at 8:20am. We will then walk over the bridge and down the main road to school which all being well should take about 10 minutes. We will provide the children with a breakfast style treat as a reward. Please ensure your child has their usual breakfast beforehand.

In order for this to run successfully we are asking for as many children as possible to join in. As a parent you do not need to join us but we will need some parent volunteers to ensure we have the correct child to adult ratio.

Parent Governors

We are pleased to be able to announce that we had two parents volunteer to join the School Governing Body.  Anthony Turner (Ben’s Dad) and Ian Vincent (Patch and Daniel’s Step Dad) will both now become Parent Governors.

World Book Day – Thursday 1st March

We are inviting the children and staff, to come to school dressed in animal themed costumes or to bring their favourite animal themed book for World Book Day this year.  Student Council will be collecting £1 from each child to donate to Animal Care, a charity based in the North West that takes in unwanted and abandoned animals and looks after them until they can be found a loving new home.  Half term may be a good time to think about the costume!
