10th November

Anti-Bullying Week

Next week 13th to 17th November is anti-bullying week.  The theme this year promotes difference and equality in schools with the tag-line ‘All Different, All Equal’.  We will be doing some work on this in school.  Some useful information for parents is available online at anti-bullyingalliance.org.uk.

Flu Vaccines and Year 6 Height and Weight

The NHS team will be visiting school on Tuesday 14th November in the morning to vaccinate the children in years1, 2, 3, 4 and reception against flu; only the children whose parents returned the form will receive the vaccine.

While the nurses are in school they will also carry out the height and weight checks on year 6 children, whose parents have not completed the opt-out form.

Christmas Play

The children have started rehearsing for the Christmas Play, you may have already received a slip with lines to learn and costume details, if not it will come home next week.

Infant Visit to St Margaret’s Church

Children will visit St Margaret’s Church in Hornby on Thursday 16th November in the afternoon as part of History learning.

PTA Meeting

The PTA will be holding a planning meeting in school on Thursday 16th November at 2:30pm, everyone is welcome!

School Meals

We have purchased a system that will allow parents to pay for school meals online if they wish.  Details will be sent home in the next couple of weeks, at this point we will continue to offer payment by cheque or cash as well, if this suits you better.

Mufti Day for PTA Christmas Hamper Goods

On Friday 17th November all children are invited to wear their own clothes to come to school in return for a donation of a raffle prize.  It could be a selection box, box of chocolates, box of biscuits, bottle of something alcoholic, Christmas pudding or anything you think suitable to go in one of our fabulous hampers.

PTA Presents and Prosecco Night – Friday 17th November

If you would like to come along and enjoy a glass of something in a relaxed atmosphere whilst making a start on your Christmas shopping from our fabulous stalls, no need to worry about a ticket, you can just pay on the door on the night. We’d love to see you! But if you are unable to come that evening and would like to add your support by buying a raffle ticket for a chance to win one of the 15 gorgeous prizes donated by our stall holders, please complete the slip at the end of the newsletter and return with payment on Monday. Tickets cost £2.00 each and of course if you win we will put your prize to one side for you to collect at a later date. Many thanks in advance for your support.

Tea Towels

Thank you to everyone who has returned the slip and payment for the self-portrait tea towels, they should be included in your Friday bag today.  If you haven’t returned your order yet, it’s not too late, just talk to Michelle Norris in the playground as there are still tea towels available!
