Macmillan Coffee Morning.

Didn’t the PTA do well raising a fantastic £531 for Macmillan Cancer Care.

School Photographs.

All orders either online or through school need to be received by Friday 13th October.

Parents’ Evening.

Staff are looking forward to the opportunity to talk to parents on Monday 9th October.  The School Nurse will also be available between 3.30 and 4.30pm.

Junior Visit to Lancaster Maritime Museum.

Thank you to everyone who has returned the slip and money for the trip next Friday, 13th October.  Please could all outstanding slips be returned on Monday.  All juniors will need a packed lunch.

Reception New Starters Photograph.

The Lancaster Guardian/Morecambe Visitor came into school last week to take a group photo of the reception children.  Enclosed in their Friday bag today is a proof/order form for the photograph that will appear in the paper late October or early November, there is also a mounted original on display near the infant classroom.   If you wish to place an order, please return the form to the school office and we will organise to forward them all on.

Junior Residential.

We plan to take all the junior children on a residential visit to Arnside from Monday 2nd June to Wednesday 4th June 2018.  There is a letter from Mr Stafford-Roberts regarding this trip in all the junior children’s Friday bags today.  Please do respond as soon as possible so we can make the necessary arrangements.

Virtues for my Soul.

Our Christian Value has now moved on to Wisdom.  Included in the Friday bag today is a certificate for you to complete when your child/ren demonstrates this attribute at home.  For our new families, the last school inspection noted that we should develop the school environment to reflect our Christian nature and with this in mind we now focus on a specific Christian value, as seen in our stained glass windows.  Each week one child per class will receive a certificate during assembly for demonstrating the value in school and we ask for your help to recognise the value at home too.

PTA Tea Towel.

This year all children have drawn a self-portrait which will be printed onto a whole-school tea-towel with the school logo and calendar year.  The tea towel can be purchased for friends and family and is a wonderful gift and stocking filler.  The cost of the tea towel will be £3.50 and we would be grateful if you could indicate how many tea-towels you wish to purchase, no money is required yet.  Please complete the slip at the end of the newsletter.

Harvest Craft Afternoon.

We are supporting the Bishop’s Harvest Appeal 2017 by having a craft afternoon on Tuesday 10th October for all pupils. Please could the children come to school dressed in Autumnal colours and we will be collecting money for ‘Tree Aid’. We ask for £1 per child or more to go to this very important and worthwhile cause.
