Welcome to our school website and our school. Hornby, St. Margaret’s, Church of England Primary School is a Voluntary Aided Church of England school, reflects our Church of England status and we have strong links with the Diocese of Blackburn. We offer a primary education to children aged 4 – 11 between the hours of 9.00am – 3.30pm. (32.5 hours)
Our ambition here at Hornby St Margaret’s is to provide the best possible primary education within our nurturing setting. We pride ourselves on our high behaviour standards rooted in our values of Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-control. Our small class sizes add to our family feel and each child is known well and cared for by our kind and friendly staff.
In September 2023, Hornby St Margaret’s joined the Lune Valley Federation with Leck St Peter’s. Together the two schools are a family, committed to fostering a love of learning. We want our children to be curious about the world around them. Although each school is unique, our Federation staff and governors work as one team, fully invested in providing a rich curriculum in a fully inclusive environment.
The school building houses three classrooms, a library and a hall which is used for assemblies, physical education, drama and musical activities and as a dining room.
The school is particularly fortunate to have large grounds and these are used as much as possible for education. Environmental work is encouraged and the children maintain parts of the garden. We have planted trees and plants to provide shade and improve the school’s environment. We have a large adventure play area, field and an excellent tarmac area.
