12th July

We are almost there!  This is the final newsletter.

The weather was kind to us on Monday for sports day.  Everyone enjoyed the afternoon, especially the ice cream that PTA provided for all pupils and staff.

The whole school trip to Windermere was also a good day and tied in really well with the infant topic of journeys.

PTA Family Bingo night

Saturday 13th July at 6:00pm in the school hall, all welcome. £1 per book of ten games, full books with six entries per game £6 or any amount in between depending on the age and ability of the children. (It will make sense when you get there I promise, if not grab me on the playground beforehand!) There will be small prizes for a line and larger prizes for a house in each game – so twenty prizes up for grabs! Tea, coffee & squash will be provided at the interval but if you would like to bring something stronger to consume you are more than welcome!  There will also be a small tuck shop selling a limited range of sweets, crisps etc. We look forward to seeing you there!

Tower Wood Visits

We are continuing our Tower Wood Adventures next week.  Juniors will go on Monday 15th July and infants on Tuesday 16th July; pupils will require a packed lunch on the day they are going and will not be back in school until about 5:30pm.  Children should wear appropriate clothing for the weather, please read the kit list attached to the information sheet included in the bag today.

Bills, Bills

As the end of term is fast approaching please could we ask that you check dinner money and early morning debts online and settle them as necessary.  It would be nice not to have any outstanding.

Junior Swimming Gala

All junior children will be taking part in a Swimming Gala at Ingleton Outdoor Pool on Wednesday 17th July.  The Gala will start shortly after 1pm and parents are invited to come along and cheer the pupils on!  An information sheet is included in the Friday bag today; they will all obviously need their swimming kit on the day.

End of Year Service

We would love all parents, grandparents and friends to join us for our End of Year Service on Thursday 18th July at 9am; where we will be celebrating another wonderful year in school and saying Goodbye to the year 6 pupils.

Books

Whilst most school books will be coming home next week, we will be keeping some in school for our teacher day meeting. These will be sent home in September.

Year 5 Information Evenings

Secondary Schools are starting to release the dates for their September Information Evenings; a couple of flyers from local schools are included in year 5 Friday bags today.

Music Lessons

Mrs Trotman will continue to offer music lessons in school from September.  Included in the Friday bag today is a flyer giving more details.

Garden Club

Garden Club will start again in September, look out for details in the newsletter.

Goodbyes

We wish them all our year 6 pupils well as they move on to the next stage of their education.  Nathan is going to LRGS, Isla and Connie to LGGS and Robbie, Olek, Sam, Penny, Zara, Maisie and Finley to QES.  We hope they will keep in touch and let us know how they are getting on.

Let’s hope the sun shines for the next couple of months.  We wish everyone a lovely summer break.
