Today is the last day of this half-term, tomorrow is a teacher day. We have had a busy half-term and we continue to appreciate parent\u2019s support.<\/p>\n
We hope everyone has a lovely half-term break and that we can all come back to school on 30th<\/sup> October<\/em><\/strong> ready for the run up to Christmas, which is always lovely in school.<\/p>\n Art<\/strong> and DT<\/strong><\/p>\n Please can\u00a0ALL JUNIORS<\/strong>\u00a0bring an old over-sized T-Shirt or shirt to use and keep in school permanently for art and DT sessions. Over the next couple of weeks, the juniors will be working with clay. It needs to fit over their school uniform so must be baggy, we are just trying to protect school uniform!<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Infant reading volunteers<\/strong><\/p>\n As a school, we are committed to helping children develop their reading skills and frequent practise really helps with this. We are looking for reading volunteers to come and listen to our Infants read, any day after 2pm<\/u> would be wonderful! Please get in touch if you can help \ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime <\/strong><\/p>\n We are having a whole school trip to The Grand theatre at Lancaster to watch the Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime at 10am on Wednesday 13th<\/sup> December. Please place your order online by 20th<\/sup> November.<\/u><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Multisport After School club \u2013 starts Tuesday 7th<\/sup> November<\/strong><\/p>\n MS Sports Coaching will be running an after-school club 3.30pm \u2013 4.30pm for Year 2 \u2013 Year 6 starting Tuesday 7th<\/sup> November.<\/p>\n Please put your child\u2019s name down with Hannah in the office if you would like them to attend, these sessions are FREE<\/u> as they will be paid for by the school PE premium.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n BBC Radio 2 \u2013 500 words competition<\/strong><\/p>\n 500 Words, the UK\u2019s most successful children\u2019s writing competition has now opened for submissions and will run till Friday 10 November.<\/strong><\/p>\n Since the competition was first launched in 2011 by Chris Evans on the Radio 2 Breakfast Show, it has received over one million stories from children throughout the UK.<\/p>\n This year, the two age categories will be\u00a05-7 year-olds<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a08-11 year-olds<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Children of all abilities are encouraged to use their creativity and imagination to\u00a0write a story they would love to read\u00a0without the pressure of having to worry about spelling, punctuation and grammar.<\/p>\n 50 finalists, along with their parents or carers, will be invited to attend a grand final next February at\u00a0Buckingham Palace!<\/strong><\/p>\n All the finalists will receive a \u00a320 National Book Token and their stories will be recorded and published on our website.
