We have had a good first full week back at school.\u00a0 Staff have been talking to the children about expectations and the routines of the school day, and generally settling everyone in.<\/p>\n

Infant Star of the week<\/strong> – <\/strong>Eric <\/strong>for a super start to year one.<\/p>\n Year 3 Star of the week – Jack\u00a0A-F<\/strong> for hard work and determination in all that he does.<\/p>\n Year 4 Star of the week – Megan<\/strong> for being patient and supportive to others during partner work.<\/p>\n Year 5 Star of the week \u2013 Maisie<\/strong> for precise map work and an example to everyone.<\/p>\n Year 6 Star of the week \u2013 Dominic <\/strong>for his effort in PE.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n At the beginning of the school year there are always lots of forms to fill in sorry, these are included in the bag today.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Friday Newsletter and Bags.\u00a0 <\/strong>Each Friday we will produce a newsletter, which will be emailed out to all families.\u00a0 This will let you know what is happening in school and list important dates.\u00a0 A family bag will be sent home via your eldest child in school when we have anything extra, like forms or information that isn\u2019t included in the newsletter.\u00a0 The bag may contain a variety of information for you to read and, in some cases act upon.\u00a0 Please empty the bag on Friday ready for returning it back to school on Monday morning.\u00a0 You can use the bag to safely return any reply slips, completed forms and money, if any has been requested.\u00a0 Any money that you do send into school should be in a clearly marked envelope with your child\u2019s full name and what the money is for written on it. <\/strong>Please ensure that your child understands the importance of bringing the bag back and handing it in on a Monday, especially if you have placed money inside.\u00a0 We will not be emptying the Friday bags until Thursday, so if there is anything urgent please email<\/strong> bursar@hornby.lancs.sch.uk<\/a>.\u00a0 Thank you.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Forms, Forms.<\/strong>\u00a0 Included in all Friday Bags today is a form titled Parental\/Carer Consent and Medical Information Form for Educational Visits and Adventurous Activities.\u00a0 This form is for the whole academic year and will cover local and low risk visits made by the children, for example, museum visits, local school visits, local walks and days out.\u00a0 For anything else, such as residential or farm visits, we will seek further permission from you.\u00a0 Although you are only completing one form for all the low risk activities we will send home an information sheet each time to keep you informed of the activities.<\/p>\n Also included in the bag is a Pupil Data Collection Form for each child.\u00a0 This form will be used to update the information we currently hold on the school database for your child(ren).\u00a0 It is important we have the most up-to-date information, so please do let us know if anything changes during the year.<\/p>\n There is yet another form to complete!\u00a0 Please have a read of the Permission for Photographs form included in the bag today and complete as appropriate.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Also included in the Friday Bag is a flyer advertising Mrs Trotman\u2019s music lessons that take place in school on Fridays.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Dates so far for this half-term: –<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Monday 13th<\/sup> Sept \u2013 Year 3\/4 Morecambe Football<\/p>\n Thursday 16th<\/sup> Sept \u2013 Year 3,4 & 5 Swimming<\/p>\n Friday 24th<\/sup> Sept \u2013 Praise Assembly 3pm<\/p>\n Monday 27th<\/sup> Sept \u2013 Junior X-Country at Tatham Fells<\/p>\n Monday 4th<\/sup> Oct \u2013 Junior visit to Tower Wood<\/p>\n Thursday 21st<\/sup> Oct \u2013 Last day of half-term<\/p>\n Friday 22nd<\/sup> Oct \u2013 Teacher Training Day<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n .<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" We have had a good first full week back at school.\u00a0 Staff have been talking to the children about expectations and the routines of the school day, and generally settling everyone in. \u00a0 Infant Star of the week – Eric for a super start to year one.
