{"id":3302,"date":"2021-07-09T14:22:04","date_gmt":"2021-07-09T14:22:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hornby.lancs.sch.uk\/?p=3302"},"modified":"2021-07-09T14:22:07","modified_gmt":"2021-07-09T14:22:07","slug":"9th-july","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hornby.lancs.sch.uk\/index.php\/2021\/07\/09\/9th-july\/","title":{"rendered":"9th July"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We are almost there!\u00a0 This is the final newsletter of this school year.\u00a0 Let\u2019s hope the sun shines for the next couple of months and we can all have a lovely summer break.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Photos.<\/strong> Individual and family photos were sent home earlier this week, they all looked lovely.\u00a0 Taking them outside seemed to work well.\u00a0 We are still waiting for the group photo, hopefully it will arrive next week!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sports Day. <\/strong>The winners were Castle, keep a lookout for the photos on the Facebook page they will be up soon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>End of Year Walk to Wray.<\/strong> We are all walking to Wray on Tuesday to visit the playground and have a picnic.\u00a0 All children will need to bring a packed lunch and drink in a backpack that they can carry.\u00a0 An information sheet with further details is attached with this newsletter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Infants<\/strong> have been thinking about journeys.\u00a0 Reception children have designed and written postcards.\u00a0 Years 1 and 2 have been solving pirate end of year challenges and continuing to write their adapted traditional tale.\u00a0 We have written so much this week, we have needed to sharpen our pencils a lot!<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Infant Star Award<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>George <\/strong>\u2013 Choosing to write lots during afternoon choosing time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Infant Certificates<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Seb<\/strong> \u2013Creative ideas for his story.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Daniel<\/strong> \u2013 Solving maths challenges and using logic to work out the pirate challenge.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lower Juniors<\/strong>.\u00a0 As this school year comes to a close, I want to thank all the children for their hard work and effort this year.\u00a0 It has been a strange one and as things start to go back to &#8216;normal&#8217;
