It\u2019s good for us to do something for the local community.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, Kirby Lonsdale Rugby Club have taken the decision to cancel the upcoming primary school\u2019s festival on <strong>Wednesday 30<sup>th<\/sup> June<\/strong>.\u00a0 The decision wasn\u2019t made lightly, after careful consideration with their safeguarding officer and the committee. The club feels that with the recent surge in Lancashire, closure of some local schools, and senior schools cancelling inter school sport together with the pushing back of the final stage of lockdown it will be best to postpone until next year.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On <strong>Thursday 1<sup>st<\/sup> July<\/strong> the Infants will be visiting Borwick Hall to continue their outdoor activities.\u00a0 They will all need a packed lunch and a complete change of clothes, please have a read of the information sheet accompanying this newsletter for more detail.\u00a0 They will be back at school around <strong>4:45pm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Also, on <strong>Thursday 1<sup>st<\/sup> July<\/strong>, Mrs Shaw will be taking the Upper Juniors on a walk around Hornby Village to look at the different house styles. Again, an information sheet is attached with this email.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Retirement.<\/strong>\u00a0 Thank you so much for all the generous donations received for Cookie\u2019s retirement present; there is still time to contribute.\u00a0 Please pass all donations to Mrs Sharpe in the office by <strong>Friday 2<sup>nd<\/sup> July<\/strong> at the very latest.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Photos.<\/strong> We hope you all liked the photos sent home last week and have been online at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tempest-order.co.uk\">www.tempest-order.co.uk<\/a> to place your order.\u00a0 We are still waiting for a copy of the whole school photo to arrive and will let you all see it as soon as we have it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Intensive Swimming Lessons.\u00a0 <\/strong>Lune Valley Swimming Pool is offering Intensive Lessons during the summer holiday, a flyer giving further details is attached with this newsletter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sports Reach <\/strong>is running the Soccer and Netball schools again this summer, pupils in year 2 and above are bringing home a leaflet today.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Infants<\/strong> have been exploring the Gospel Values of Love and Joy this week.\u00a0 They have made some lovely artwork for the hall display.\u00a0 They read the story \u2018The Day the Crayons Quit\u2019 and tried to understand how each crayon felt.\u00a0 They then wrote letters to persuade the crayons to stay!<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Infant Star Award<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Macy<\/strong> \u2013 Super writing in her letter to the crayon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Infant Certificates<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Ronnie<\/strong> \u2013 Enthusiasm in writing his letter to the crayon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Livia<\/strong> \u2013 Thoughtful ideas in our Gospel Values sessions.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lower Juniors<\/strong> have had a lovely week this week.\u00a0 From next year we will have a focus on a particular value each half term.\u00a0 Tuesday was dedicated to these values.\u00a0 In Year 3 and 4, we talked about patience and peace.\u00a0 We discussed what this might look like in our lives and what gets in the way of being patient and peaceful.\u00a0 The children had some interesting opinions and were very good at thinking about where they could be a little more patient and peaceful with others.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For our English work, each child has chosen their European country they will research for their fact file and in Maths we have started to look at fractions of amounts.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 3 star of the week \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Scarlett <\/strong>\u2013 Well done Scarlett for coming into your new class and settling in.\u00a0 Scarlett has adapted to the new routine well.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 4 star of the week \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Elliott <\/strong>\u2013 For being an enthusiastic learner and always trying his best.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Upper Juniors<\/strong> concentrated on the values of kindness and goodness during the Values Activity Day.
