As we are still not able to invite parents back into school for Friday assemblies, we will be including some information each week about what the children have been covering, along with details of awards given.<\/p>\n

Infants<\/strong> have been Authors this week, with Years 1 and 2 writing \u2018Epic Tiger Non-Fiction\u2019 books and Reception writing \u2018Penguin Adventure Stories\u2019.\u00a0 In science they have been exploring how they could quickly rescue their frozen Lego friend from the ice!<\/p>\n

The Infant Star Award<\/strong> – \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Livia for her Fabulous Team Work.<\/p>\n

Infant Certificates<\/strong>: – \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 George \u2013 Maths Superstar<\/p>\n

Lower Juniors<\/strong> have been delving into Norse Mythology.\u00a0 Thinking about what the Vikings believed.\u00a0 The land of the Gods is called Asgard.\u00a0 They drew pictures of this and, using some written descriptions, drew their own interpretation of the land.\u00a0 Look out for some examples on Facebook.\u00a0 They have continued with ‘Electricity’ in science, investigating how switches work and putting them into a circuit.<\/p>\n

Year 3 star of the week<\/strong> – James Hope for persevering in maths and working hard to use all the new methods we have been learning for division and multiplication.<\/p>\n

Year 4 star of the week<\/strong> – Dexter Hill for improving his attitude towards reading at home and his homework.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Upper Juniors<\/strong> have been writing Cinquain Poems and Kennings this week.<\/p>\n

Year 5 star of the week<\/strong> \u2013 Roxanne for perseverance in maths.<\/p>\n

Year 6 star of the week<\/strong> \u2013 Lucas for this excellent Cinquain poem.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Next Monday 10th<\/sup> May<\/strong> the upper juniors will be out all day at Hutton Roof for their climbing day.\u00a0 A detailed information sheet is included with their newsletter today.\u00a0 Please remember their packed lunch, drink, warm clothing and a waterproof.<\/p>\n

Please can we remind parents to keep up to date with payments for both dinners and early morning club. Email reminders have been sent out today to any parents with significant balances.<\/p>\n

The Year 6s<\/strong> are starting to get excited about celebrating the end of their time at school. Mark Norris and Pierra Ltd have generously covered the cost of a Leavers’ Hoody for each of them. He would love to share some pictures of the Year 6s in their hoodies on his website \/ social media. Please let us know if you do not want your child to appear in these photos.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0A group of parents have continued to work hard in the garden area this week and we are very grateful for this, it\u2019s looking really good!<\/p>\n
