Microsoft OneDrive \u2013 <\/strong>we hope everyone has been able to access the one drive.\u00a0 New Autumn 2 homework has been shared on the Infant one drive R\/1 and individual one drives for Year 2 pupils and all juniors. \u00a0A copy of the half termly spellings has also been shared for reference. \u00a0Topic overviews for the half term are included in all Friday bags today.<\/p>\n

Infants<\/strong> \u2013 we are pleased that the visit to Borwick Outdoor Centre for the Infants can still take place on Monday 16th<\/sup> November<\/em><\/strong>, a detailed information sheet is included in the Friday bag today.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Juniors <\/strong>\u2013 all juniors children need to bring a large piece of cardboard into school please, they will be making offensive and defensive Anglo Saxon and Viking weapons.\u00a0 Thanks Mrs Cottam.\u00a0 Children in years 3 & 4 will continue to have football coaching with Morecambe FC on Monday afternoons.\u00a0 We are currently working with the swimming pool to establish if it is viable for them to open for school swimming, we will let you know early next week.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Colder Weather<\/strong> – As the weather is turning colder, it may be beneficial to send children to school with an additional base layer. This could be a long-sleeved top underneath their school t-shirt and jumper or tights \/ leggings underneath their trousers. We are keeping classroom windows open as part of our Covid-19 risk assessment. Children can always remove a layer if they get too hot, but will struggle to focus on learning if they are too cold.<\/p>\n

Parent Questionnaire \u2013 <\/strong>we are sending home a questionnaire to gauge opinion about children\u2019s lockdown work, please complete and return by Monday 16th<\/sup> November<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 If you have more than one child we have included an extra sheet for your response if it is different.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Boxes of Hope<\/strong> \u2013 the boxes will be collected either Tuesday or Wednesday next week, so if anyone wants to do a last-minute box it needs to be dropped off at school by the end of Monday 9th<\/sup> November<\/em><\/strong> please.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Christmas Cards \u2013 <\/strong>the Christmas Card proofs designed by the children are included in the Friday bag today, together with an order form.\u00a0 Each card will contain a printed greeting of \u2018Merry Christmas\u2019 inside that does not appear on the proof.\u00a0 Please can all orders be returned to school by Friday 13th<\/sup> November<\/em><\/strong> at the very latest.\u00a0 The sale of these cards raises funds for the PTA that are used to benefit all pupils in school.<\/p>\n

Scholastic Book Club<\/strong> – Included in the Friday bag today is the latest book club leaflet, it\u2019s full of ideas for Christmas Presents!\u00a0 Ordering can be done online at http:\/\/schools.scholastic.co.uk\/hornby-st-margarets-ce-primar<\/a>.\u00a0 There are hundreds of fantastic children\u2019s books to choose from, and every \u00a31 you spend will earn 25p for our school in Scholastic Rewards.\u00a0 If you wish to order using the leaflet that is fine too, just return it to school by Monday 16th<\/sup> November<\/em><\/strong>, online orders should be placed by then as well please.<\/p>\n

PTA Update<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0Apologies that we have been quiet this term but rest assured we have been working in the background to think about how we can adapt to the current circumstances, as obviously many of our usual fundraising activities such as fairs will not be able to take place. We will be having a Zoom meeting to discuss these ideas further this coming Thursday, 12th November at 8pm<\/em><\/strong>. If you would like to join the zoom meeting, please pass your details to Mrs Sharpe to pass on or let Michelle Norris know and you will be sent the join link. You will find our charity Christmas cards in your Friday bags today, and the PTA will receive a donation from all cards and other items purchased. We will also be holding our usual Christmas raffle this year, albeit in a different format, so please search your cupboards for items for our hampers and keep your eyes out for prize ideas when shopping. We will issue more info about how this will run & other fundraising ideas and info after next Thursday\u2019s meeting. If you aren\u2019t able to attend the meeting but have some ideas or would like to help in some capacity, please let us know by popping a note in your Friday bag, emailing Mrs Sharpe or contacting us via our Facebook page. (For new parents you will find us as Hornby St Margaret\u2019s Primary School PTA, it\u2019s a closed group so you will have to request to join). Many thanks.<\/p>\n
