{"id":2814,"date":"2019-07-12T14:04:52","date_gmt":"2019-07-12T14:04:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hornby.lancs.sch.uk\/?p=2814"},"modified":"2019-07-12T14:04:52","modified_gmt":"2019-07-12T14:04:52","slug":"12th-july","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hornby.lancs.sch.uk\/index.php\/2019\/07\/12\/12th-july\/","title":{"rendered":"12th July"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>We are almost there!\u00a0 This is the final newsletter.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>The weather was kind to us on Monday for sports day.\u00a0 Everyone enjoyed the afternoon, especially the ice cream that PTA provided for all pupils and staff.\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>The whole school trip to Windermere was also a good day and tied in really well with the infant topic of journeys.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>PTA Family Bingo night<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Saturday 13th July at 6:00pm<\/em><\/strong> in the school hall, all welcome. \u00a31 per book of ten games, full books with six entries per game \u00a36 or any amount in between depending on the age and ability of the children. (It will make sense when you get there I promise, if not grab me on the playground beforehand!) There will be small prizes for a line and larger prizes for a house in each game &#8211; so twenty prizes up for grabs! Tea, coffee &amp; squash will be provided at the interval but if you would like to bring something stronger to consume you are more than welcome!\u00a0 There will also be a\u00a0small tuck shop selling a limited range of sweets, crisps etc. We look forward to seeing you there!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tower Wood Visits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are continuing our Tower Wood Adventures next week. \u00a0Juniors will go on <strong><em>Monday 15<sup>th<\/sup> July<\/em><\/strong> and infants on <strong><em>Tuesday 16<sup>th<\/sup> July; <\/em><\/strong>pupils will require a packed lunch on the day they are going and will not be back in school until about <strong>5:30pm<\/strong>.\u00a0 Children should wear appropriate clothing for the weather, please read the kit list attached to the information sheet included in the bag today.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bills, Bills<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As the end of term is fast approaching please could we ask that you check dinner money and early morning debts online and settle them as necessary.\u00a0 It would be nice not to have any outstanding.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Junior Swimming Gala<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All junior children will be taking part in a Swimming Gala at Ingleton Outdoor Pool on <strong><em>Wednesday 17<sup>th<\/sup> July<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 The Gala will start shortly after 1pm and parents are invited to come along and cheer the pupils on!\u00a0 An information sheet is included in the Friday bag today; they will all obviously need their swimming kit on the day.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>End of Year Service<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We would love all parents, grandparents and friends to join us for our End of Year Service on <strong><em>Thursday 18<sup>th<\/sup> July at 9am<\/em><\/strong>; where we will be celebrating another wonderful year in school and saying Goodbye to the year 6 pupils.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Books<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Whilst most school books will be coming home next week, we will be keeping some in school for our teacher day meeting.
