{"id":2810,"date":"2019-07-05T14:05:57","date_gmt":"2019-07-05T14:05:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hornby.lancs.sch.uk\/?p=2810"},"modified":"2019-07-05T14:05:57","modified_gmt":"2019-07-05T14:05:57","slug":"5th-july","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hornby.lancs.sch.uk\/index.php\/2019\/07\/05\/5th-july\/","title":{"rendered":"5th July"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Edinburgh Residential.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The upper junior children have had a fantastic time in Edinburgh and we were very proud of the way they behaved, they were a credit to you and the school.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>School Reports.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>School reports are being sent home today.\u00a0 A reply slip is enclosed with them for you to acknowledge receipt and make comments.\u00a0 Please return the slip in the bag on Monday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sports Day.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We all have our fingers crossed for good weather on <strong><em>Monday 8<sup>th<\/sup> July<\/em><\/strong>, so that Sports Day can go ahead as planned at <strong><em>1:15pm<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 Everyone is welcome to come along and cheer the children on!\u00a0 If your child has a t-shirt in the colour of their house please could they bring it to wear.\u00a0 Castle is red, Fountain is blue and Priory is yellow; there will of course be coloured bands available for anyone who needs one.\u00a0 PTA will be giving all pupils an ice-cream at the end, any remaining will be sold to parents at \u00a31.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Whole School Trip<\/strong><strong> \u2013 Tuesday 9<sup>th<\/sup> July.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Everyone will going on the end of year trip to Windermere on <strong><em>Tuesday 9<sup>th<\/sup> July<\/em><\/strong> for the day.\u00a0 Each pupil will need a packed lunch and drink in a backpack that they can carry themselves.\u00a0 All children need to wear school uniform (red polo shirt), so they are easy to spot in busy places.\u00a0 An information sheet giving further details about the trip in included in the Friday bag today.\u00a0 Please note that they will not be back at school until around 3:45pm.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Garden Club <\/strong>will run this <strong><em>Wednesday 10<sup>th<\/sup> July.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tower Wood Visits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are continuing our Tower Wood Adventures; juniors will go on <strong><em>Monday 15<sup>th<\/sup> July<\/em><\/strong> and infants on <strong><em>Tuesday 16<sup>th<\/sup> July<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 Tower Wood have asked that infant pupils complete a photo consent form, which is included in their Friday bag today.\u00a0 They will be trying out a new activity and the centre would like to take photos for publicity on their website.\u00a0 Please return the completed forms in the bag on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>School Photo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you ordered a whole school photograph it is included in the bag today.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bills, Bills<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As the end of term is fast approaching please could we ask that you check dinner money and early morning debts online and settle them as necessary.\u00a0 It would be nice not to have any outstanding.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Library Books<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We would be very grateful if all library books could be returned to school next week.<strong><em><\/p>\n<p><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>PTA Family Bingo night<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Saturday 13th July at 6:00pm<\/em><\/strong> in the school hall, all welcome. \u00a31 per book of ten games, full books with six entries per game \u00a36 or any amount in between depending on the age and ability of the children. (It will make sense when you get there I promise, if not grab me on the playground beforehand!) There will be small prizes for a line and larger prizes for a house in each game &#8211; so twenty prizes up for grabs! Tea, coffee &amp; squash will be provided at the interval but if you would like to bring something stronger to consume you are more than welcome!\u00a0 There will also be a\u00a0small tuck shop selling a limited range of sweets, crisps etc. Please complete the reply slip at the end of the newsletter if you are thinking of attending so that we have a rough idea of numbers.
