{"id":2665,"date":"2018-11-30T14:11:37","date_gmt":"2018-11-30T14:11:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hornby.lancs.sch.uk\/?p=2665"},"modified":"2018-11-30T14:11:37","modified_gmt":"2018-11-30T14:11:37","slug":"30th-november","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hornby.lancs.sch.uk\/index.php\/2018\/11\/30\/30th-november\/","title":{"rendered":"30th November"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>PTA Christmas Fair \u2013 Saturday 1<sup>st<\/sup> December 12noon-2pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thank you to everyone who has so\u00a0 generously donated items for the Christmas Fair and bought raffle tickets in advance; it should be a really good event.\u00a0 Please do come along for <strong><em>12noon<\/em><\/strong> tomorrow and invite all your family and friends!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rewind to Christmas.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The year 5 pupils have been invited to Ingleton Methodist Church on <strong><em>Thursday 6<sup>th<\/sup> December<\/em><\/strong> to join in some Christmas Celebrations and activities along with \u00a0children from other local schools.\u00a0 An information sheet is included in their bags today.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Confirmation \u2013 Visit of Bishop Jill.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The new Bishop of Lancaster, Bishop Jill Duff, will be leading a service in church for all the junior pupils at <strong><em>2:30pm<\/em><\/strong> on <strong><em>Monday 10<sup>th<\/sup> December<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 Several junior children will be getting confirmed during the service. Please do try and join us; the service is open to everyone, and relatives and friends of junior pupils will be especially welcome to attend.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Christmas Performances \u2013 Tuesday 18<sup>th<\/sup> December.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There will be two performances in the school hall again this year.\u00a0 The morning performance will be at <strong><em>9:30am<\/em><\/strong> and the evening one at <strong><em>6pm<\/em><\/strong> (please note the time change from last week\u2019s newsletter which said 6:30pm).\u00a0 Fire regulations mean we are limited to the number of people we can squeeze into the hall.\u00a0 The tickets will be free and we will as usual hold a charity collection at the end of each performance.\u00a0 Please complete the slip at the end of the newsletter to request your tickets, the evening performance is always very busy, so if anyone can come in the morning you will get a better view!<\/p>\n<p>Costumes need to be in school by <strong><em>Friday 7<sup>th<\/sup> December<\/em><\/strong> ready for the dress rehearsal on the morning of Tuesday 11<sup>th<\/sup> December.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Christmas Pantomime &#8211;<\/strong> <strong>Thursday, 20<sup>th<\/sup> December<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you to all the parents who have sent in their contributions towards the cost of this trip.\u00a0 Please send any remaining ones in the bag on Monday, the slip is at the end of the newsletter again this week.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Included in all Friday Bags today is a small book about Christmas for each child.\u00a0 Mrs Hamlett has talked to the children about these today in assembly.
