{"id":2591,"date":"2018-11-09T14:00:23","date_gmt":"2018-11-09T14:00:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hornby.lancs.sch.uk\/?p=2591"},"modified":"2018-11-09T14:00:23","modified_gmt":"2018-11-09T14:00:23","slug":"9th-november","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hornby.lancs.sch.uk\/index.php\/2018\/11\/09\/9th-november\/","title":{"rendered":"9th November"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Most Friday bags are quite full today!\u00a0 The PTA Christmas Cards have arrived and so have the school photos, they are all included in the bag today.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>There is also a separate red sheet from PTA in the bag giving all the up-to-date information regarding the Christmas Fair on <strong>Saturday 1<sup>st<\/sup> December<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Boxes of Hope. <\/strong>Thank you to everyone who sent in boxes for the children in Romania, at least 20 boxes were sent from school.\u00a0 We are sure they will be very much appreciated by the children who receive them and hopefully bring a smile to their faces.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fitness Fun Club.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 It was lovely to see so many slips returned for the Fitness Club.\u00a0 As explained in the text messages, infants will attend up to Christmas and then juniors in the new year. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Multicultural Festival of Light Day.\u00a0 <\/strong><strong>4 pupils from year 4 will be going to Over Kellet School on <\/strong><strong><em>Tuesday 13<sup>th<\/sup> November<\/em><\/strong><strong> to join children from other local schools in a workshop regarding various religions.\u00a0 A detailed information sheet is included in the Friday bag for the pupils involved, please note they will need a packed lunch on this day.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Assembly at St Margaret\u2019s Church.\u00a0 <\/strong><strong>The whole school is going to Church for a Remembrance Service on <\/strong><strong><em>Wednesday 14<sup>th<\/sup> November at 10am<\/em><\/strong><strong>; parents, grand-parents and friends are very welcome to join us.\u00a0 An information sheet is included in all the Friday bags today.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>PTA Mufti Day.\u00a0 <\/strong><strong>On <\/strong><strong><em>Friday 16<sup>th<\/sup> November<\/em><\/strong><strong>, children are invited to wear their own clothes to school in return for a donation of a raffle prize.\u00a0 It could be a box of chocolates or biscuits, a bottle of something alcoholic, or something smaller like a Christmas pudding which could go into one of our fabulous hampers.\u00a0 Please leave your donations in the school entrance on the morning of <\/strong><strong><em>Friday 16<sup>th<\/sup> November<\/em><\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Upper Junior Netball Competition. <\/strong><strong>The five pupils who represented school at the cluster high five competition did fantastically well;
