{"id":2436,"date":"2018-06-29T13:30:04","date_gmt":"2018-06-29T13:30:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hornby.lancs.sch.uk\/?p=2436"},"modified":"2018-06-29T13:30:04","modified_gmt":"2018-06-29T13:30:04","slug":"29th-june","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hornby.lancs.sch.uk\/index.php\/2018\/06\/29\/29th-june\/","title":{"rendered":"29th June"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Arnside Residential Visit \u2013 Monday 2<sup>nd<\/sup> to Wednesday 4<sup>th<\/sup> July <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The junior children are looking forward to their trip starting on Monday.\u00a0 Please ensure they are in school by <strong><em>9am<\/em><\/strong>, with their bag and packed lunch.\u00a0 They will be back for the normal end of day on Wednesday, let\u2019s hope they all have a great time!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Infant Visit to Leighton Moss<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All the infant children are having a day at Leighton Moss on <strong><em>Tuesday 3<sup>rd<\/sup> July<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 They will be leaving school soon after <strong><em>9am<\/em><\/strong>, so it would good if the children could arrive by <strong><em>8:50am<\/em><\/strong> please.\u00a0 They will all need a packed lunch and plenty to drink in a backpack that they can carry themselves.\u00a0 Please dress them appropriately for the weather; they will need to have a school top on so they can be easily identified.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Early Morning Club<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Miss Race will be running Early Morning Club Monday to Wednesday next week so it will be in the Infant Class Room, enter by Infant door please.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ukulele Lessons<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mrs Barker\u2019s ukulele lessons have finished now and will restart in the Autumn Term.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>New Starter Visits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The new reception children will be visiting school again on Monday morning, ready to start full time in September.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year 6 Leavers Do \u2013 Tuesday 10<sup>th<\/sup> July<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thank you to everyone for returning the slips for the Leavers Do!\u00a0 PTA have very kindly agreed to fund the event, so any payments sent in are being returned in the Friday bag today.\u00a0 We really hope you all have a good time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parental Questionnaire<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the Governor meeting earlier this week, we discussed the information from the questionnaires you filled in earlier in the year.\u00a0 Governors would like to thank all the parents who completed one and are pleased to report that the feedback was very positive.\u00a0 Should any parents be unsure of how school operates, all our policies are available on the school website for you to view.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>End of Year Services<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All parents, grandparents and friends are invited to join us for our End of Year Service on Thursday 19<sup>th<\/sup> July at 9am; where we will be celebrating another wonderful year in school and saying Goodbye to the year 6 pupils.<\/p>\n<p>The Student Council have also organised a Talent Show again, which will take place <strong><em>on Friday 6<sup>th<\/sup> at 2:30pm<\/em><\/strong>; everyone is very welcome to join us for this too.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>PTA Family Bingo Night &#8211; Friday 6th July at 6:30pm<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Everyone welcome. \u00a31 per book of ten games, full books with six entries per game \u00a36 or any amount in between depending on the age and ability of the children. (It will make sense when you get there I promise, if not grab me on the playground beforehand!) There will be small prizes for a line and larger prizes for a house in each game &#8211; so twenty prizes up for grabs!
