{"id":2351,"date":"2018-05-04T13:37:53","date_gmt":"2018-05-04T13:37:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hornby.lancs.sch.uk\/?p=2351"},"modified":"2018-05-04T13:37:53","modified_gmt":"2018-05-04T13:37:53","slug":"4th-may","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hornby.lancs.sch.uk\/index.php\/2018\/05\/04\/4th-may\/","title":{"rendered":"4th May"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The next couple of weeks are relatively quiet in school leading up to SATS week starting on <strong><em>Monday 14<sup>th<\/sup> May<\/em><\/strong> for year 6 children.\u00a0 Please encourage your child not to worry about these.\u00a0 They do need to be at school to try their best and that is always good enough.<\/p>\n<p>We have tried to include as many of the important dates for next half term at the end of this newsletter to help everyone plan!<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Parents Help Morning<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thank you to the families who came to help last Saturday Morning.\u00a0 We managed to get quite a few jobs done and school looks better for it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Junior DT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The junior children are well underway with their designs.\u00a0 Please could we ask that each child brings in two different sized boxes (e.g. a cereal box and a tissue box or similar, but nothing too big please).\u00a0 These need to be in school by Wednesday next week (<strong><em>9<sup>th<\/sup> May<\/em><\/strong>).\u00a0 Thank you.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>School Meals<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The total charge for school meals this term is \u00a363.80, 29 days at \u00a32.20.\u00a0 Text reminders have been sent today to parents with outstanding balances.\u00a0 If you log onto <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eduspot.co.uk\">www.eduspot.co.uk<\/a> you will be able to view your child\u2019s account.\u00a0 It is possible to add money to cover lunches still to be taken, if this works best for you.\u00a0 Included in some Friday bags are paper bills detailing outstanding balances, if anyone else would prefer to pay this way just let us know.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Internet Safety<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It has come to our attention that many children in school, particularly junior pupils, have the game <strong><em>Roblox<\/em><\/strong> on their tablets at home.\u00a0 This game has a chat room which is open to the public, so we advise that you check the settings on the tablet if your child has this game.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>PTA News<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are planning to hold the annual Summer Fair on <strong><em>Saturday 16th June from 11am &#8211; 1pm<\/em><\/strong>. There will be all the usual stalls and lots of games for the children to enjoy so we will need your help planning, setting up and helping behind stalls on the day, so please put the date in your diary and keep it free for us if you can!<\/p>\n<p>We are also holding a family Bingo evening on <strong><em>Friday 6th July<\/em><\/strong>. There will be prizes to win and refreshments and snacks on sale.
