The following week only clubs on Monday and Wednesday will run.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Upper Junior Caving Days \u2013<\/strong> It was disappointing that the caving day had to be cancelled on Monday, but we have secured another day and those children will now go on <strong><em>Tuesday 20<sup>th<\/sup> March<\/em><\/strong>. The other group will go as originally planned on <strong><em>Monday 19<sup>th<\/sup> March<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 Full information sheets are included in the bag today, <strong><em>please pay particular attention to the day your child is going and the detailed requirements on the kit list.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Parental Questionnaire\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thank you to everyone who has returned their parental questionnaires, please could the outstanding ones be returned in the bag on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ukulele Lessons<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ukulele lessons are <strong><em>cancelled next Tuesday 20<sup>th<\/sup> March<\/em><\/strong>, as Mrs Barker is not in school that day.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gardening Club &#8211; <\/strong>Two Infant Parents have very kindly offered to run Gardening Club for us this year.\u00a0 It will start on <strong><em>Tuesday 20<sup>th<\/sup> March<\/em><\/strong> and will be for junior pupils in the first instance.\u00a0 Please bring your wellies if you want to join in.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lancaster Music Festival \u2013 Juniors<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The junior children are looking forward to performing at the Music Festival on <strong><em>Wednesday 21<sup>st<\/sup> March<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 They will all be going in the morning to rehearse, an information sheet giving further details is in their Friday bag today.\u00a0 We are pleased that we have been able to accommodate all the ticket requests for the evening performance and have included them in the bag today.\u00a0 Please send in outstanding payments, made payable to Hornby CE Primary School.\u00a0 The tickets cost \u00a34 each and we have been advised that any children in the audience need their own ticket.\u00a0 The children need to meet at Lancaster Town Hall by 6:45pm, where Mrs Cook will be waiting for them, please drop them off at their seat (children will know where this is) rather than in the foyer and collect at the end from there too, it is always very busy.\u00a0 Many thanks for your support with this event.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Junior Swimming <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Wednesday 21<sup>st<\/sup> March<\/em><\/strong> is the final swimming session for this academic year.\u00a0 The children will be playing games, so no pyjamas needed!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Life Education Bus<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Life Education Bus will be visiting school on <strong><em>Friday 23<sup>rd<\/sup> March<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 For new parents this programme works in partnership with schools to help children make healthy choices for life.\u00a0 All pupils will have an age appropriate session.\u00a0 Parents are invited to visit the bus at 9am if they wish to learn more about the programme.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>PTA Jumble Sale<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The date for the Spring Jumble Sale is <strong><em>Saturday 24th March at<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>10am<\/em><\/strong>. Jumble can be dropped off at school from <strong><em>Wednesday 21<sup>st<\/sup> March<\/em><\/strong>, we will be taking Adult\u2019s and Children\u2019s Clothing, Paired Shoes, Hats, Belts, Handbags and Soft Toys.\u00a0 All items remaining after the sale will be sent to Bag2School.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bikeability<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Year 5 &amp; 6 children will need to remember to bring their bikes to school on <strong><em>Monday 26<sup>th<\/sup> and Tuesday 27<sup>th<\/sup> March<\/em><\/strong> for the Bikeability training.\u00a0 Please refer to the M check sent home earlier to ensure the bike is safe to ride and bring a helmet if you have one, if not the trainer will be able to provide one.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Easter Church Service<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the Wednesday morning school assemblies this half-term, the Vicar has been teaching the children about Holy Communion. Children in the Juniors, who have been baptised (christened), are being invited to receive Holy Communion, if they wish, when the school goes over to church for this term&#8217;s Wednesday morning church service, which is in Holy Week, on <strong><em>Wednesday 28th March<\/em><\/strong>. If you are happy for your child to receive Holy Communion, please return the slip at the end of the newsletter. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Vicar directly as <a href=\"mailto:vicar@these4parishes.co.uk\">vicar@these4parishes.co.uk<\/a> or on 21712.\u00a0 As always parents, grandparents and friends are very welcome to join us at this service, which starts at 10am.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Golf Club<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My name is Nick Barron and for the last few weeks\/months I have been teaching your children golf in after school club.\u00a0 I hope they have had as much fun as I have had coaching them!<\/p>\n<p>To follow on from these sessions I just thought I would keep you informed of a couple of options for your child should they wish to continue playing golf through the summer.\u00a0 Every Tuesday night from 4pm I host Junior Coaching sessions at Bentham Golf Club which are open to anyone and everyone whether they are a member of the golf club or not.\u00a0 They do not need to have played golf.\u00a0 There are a number of sessions for all ages and abilities split into groups depending on this and run every 45 minutes up until 7pm.\u00a0 The first of these sessions will start on Tuesday 3<sup>rd<\/sup> April.
