Macmillan Coffee Morning. <\/strong>Thank you to everyone for their support with the Coffee Morning, we will let you know how much we raised next week.<\/p>\n

Meeting for Reception Children Parents.\u00a0 <\/strong>Miss Race is looking forward to meeting the reception class parents on Monday 2nd<\/sup> October at 5pm<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 The purpose of the meeting is to explain the curriculum and approaches to reading\/writing and is for parents only.<\/p>\n

Kendal College Childcare Student.\u00a0 <\/strong>Anna Rudd, a Kendal College Student, will be helping in the Infant Class for two days a week starting next week.\u00a0 Some of you may remember Anna from her time here several years ago.\u00a0 We are sure she will enjoy her time with us and hopefully learn lots.<\/p>\n

Junior Walk around the Village.\u00a0 <\/strong>Mrs Shaw is taking the juniors on a walk around the village next Friday morning, 6th<\/sup> October<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 An information sheet giving more details is included in the bag today.\u00a0 We would be very grateful if some parents would volunteer to come with us, please speak to a member of the junior team or Mrs Sharpe.\u00a0 Thank you.<\/p>\n

School Photographs.\u00a0 <\/strong>All the children had their photographs taken last week; the proofs are enclosed in this week\u2019s Friday Bag.\u00a0 Orders can be placed online this year by visiting www.picturemailorder.co.uk<\/a> and using the username and password on your proof.\u00a0 You can if you wish still order through school, but will have to send cash<\/em><\/strong> with the order not cheques.\u00a0 All orders either online or through school need to be received by Friday 13th<\/sup> October<\/em><\/strong> at the very latest.<\/p>\n

Parents\u2019 Evening.\u00a0 <\/strong>If anyone still needs to book an appointment for parents\u2019 evening next Monday 9th<\/sup> October<\/em><\/strong>, please ring school and we will try and find you a suitable time slot.\u00a0 Staff really value the opportunity to talk to parents on these evenings.\u00a0 The School Nurse will also be available between 3.30<\/em><\/strong> and 4.30pm<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Junior Visit to Lancaster Maritime Museum.\u00a0 <\/strong>Mrs Shaw has organised for the junior children to visit the Maritime Museum in Lancaster on Friday 13th<\/sup> October for a Science Session<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 It is a morning session, but they won\u2019t be back in time for lunch, so all juniors will need a packed lunch on this day.\u00a0 Please complete the slip at the end of the newsletter, giving permission for them to go and include the voluntary contribution of \u00a38 per pupil to cover the cost of the bus and charge for the activity.<\/p>\n

School Times.\u00a0 <\/strong>There seems to be some confusion regarding when school is responsible for your children.\u00a0 We would like to remind parents that school starts at 9am<\/em><\/strong> and finishes at 3.30pm<\/em><\/strong> and that children are your responsibility at all other times, especially when they are playing on the equipment outside.\u00a0 This does not apply to Morning Club children who are in our care from the time they are signed in.<\/p>\n

Harvest Craft Afternoon <\/strong><\/p>\n

We are supporting the Bishop\u2019s Harvest Appeal 2017 by having a craft afternoon on Tuesday 10th<\/sup> October<\/em><\/strong> for all pupils. Please could the children come to school dressed in Autumnal colours and we will be collecting money for \u2018Tree Aid\u2019. We ask for \u00a31 per child or more to go to this very important and worthwhile cause.<\/p>\n
