This involves:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Working with other board members to plan the school\u2019s strategic direction.<\/li>\n<li>Overseeing the school\u2019s financial performance, ensuring money is well-spent.<\/li>\n<li>Holding the headteacher or school leadership to account.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A school governor\u2019s relationship with the school\u2019s leadership team involves challenging existing processes to drive school improvement. School governors usually attend around six meetings per year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><em>(Source:\u00a0governorsforschools.org.uk)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Since September 2023 we have been in a formal federation with Leck St Peter\u2019s, known as the Lune Valley Federation of Leck St Peter\u2019s and Hornby St Margaret\u2019s Church of England Primary Schools.
