At Hornby St Margaret’s Church of England Primary, we believe that a clear and consistent school uniform supports a sense of belonging, promotes positive behaviour, and helps pupils to feel part of our school community.

We are equally committed to ensuring that our uniform is affordable, practical, and inclusive for all families, and that cost is never a barrier to attendance, participation, or access to learning.

Our uniform supplier is a local company called Uniform and Leisurewear.

During our review of uniform, we have taken into consideration costs and best value for money but should you find yourself having financial difficulties please discuss with the Headteacher.

Pre-loved uniform can be purchased via the office throughout the year to support our families.

Where an item states “Logo” this can only be purchased from Uniform and Leisurewear. All other items can be purchased from anywhere else.

 

Physical Education (PE) kit

The following PE kit is required:

• White T-shirt
• Plain black / navy shorts (generic)
• Plain black or navy tracksuit bottoms and sweatshirt (generic, for outdoor PE)
• Trainers suitable for PE activities

To reduce costs for families, no PE items are required to be branded, although we do have a red hooded sweatshirt if families want to choose this option. This can be purchased from Hornby St Margaret's CE Primary School – UAL Online.

 

Girls are permitted to wear a red and white gingham dress (generic) in warm weather.

 

Nail varnish and make up must not be worn and long hair must be tied back with no large hair accessories.  Children may wear a watch. With many children in school, it is sensible that all items of clothing are clearly marked with the owner’s name.  

Stud earrings are permitted but must be removed / covered during PE / Forest School sessions.  Please ensure your child is able to remove their own earrings or have them covered on arrival on PE days.
